In Give Me More by Sara Cate, a cross-country road trip turns into something much more complicated when Drake, a self-proclaimed playboy, is asked by his best friend, Hunter, to sleep with his wife, Isabel—while Hunter watches. Torn between loyalty to his best friend (and secret crush) and his long-held feelings for Isabel, Drake finds himself navigating a complex web of desire, friendship, and love. As the dynamic between the three intensifies, Drake must decide how far he’s willing to go and what it could cost their relationships – particularly the one he has with Hunter.
Exploring Polyamorous Relationships and MM Romance
If you’ve ever been curious about polyamorous relationships or MM [term = male male] romance but weren’t sure where to start, Give Me More by is the perfect entry point – so punny! This third installment of the Salacious Players’ Club series continues to explore its central themes of consent and kink, making sure every character feels safe and comfortable in what they’re doing. That’s one of the series’ greatest strengths—no matter how spicy things get, consent is at the heart of it all, which we love!
Unexpected Chemistry: A Trio that Works
At first, we weren’t sure how we’d feel about a love triangle where sharing is part of the deal. If you’re like us, you love a good obsession romance, and we weren’t sure if that intensity could exist in a polyamorous relationship. But wow, were we wrong! The chemistry between Hunter, Isabel, and Drake is electric, and the love between them feels genuine and deep. There are so many spicy scenes to choose from, but why choose! The way they grow to accept and love each other equally happens so naturally that you can’t help but root for them as a trio. Isabel is the center of this dynamic, but Drake’s presence enhances the relationship, making their trio not only believable but beautiful. What’s more is the way these three naturally became a throuple felt believable as we watched each character struggle emotionally with the weight of giving in to what they each desired most deeply.
The relationship between Drake and Hunter was everything we hoped it would be, but it wasn’t without its struggles. For example, Hunter struggles between understanding his sexuality while wanting Drake. Drake struggles with being in love and what that means to him. But, despite those struggles, the spice, like those touches while Isabel was on Hunter’s lap while Drake was finishing Isabel, gave us all the feels. Both Hunter and Drake work through these issues and the result in character growth is worth the wait as it pulls at your emotional heartstrings along the way. In the end, these characters reach their satisfying conclusion with a passionate kiss, and not a public sex act, which we appreciate is different from Praise and Eyes on Me.
Balancing the “Mine” Trope with Polyamory
Surprisingly, this book also manages to maintain the “mine” trope, despite the trio relationship dynamics. While they may share each other, it’s clear that Hunter, Isabel, and Drake belong only to one another and anyone else trying to play “swinger” is a huge no-go. You still get the possessive energy that makes so many romances feel intense, but it’s spread across three people who are equally devoted to each other. Whether it’s Isabel or Drake, Hunter’s expressions of “mine” left us wanting more. The gradual development of the MM dynamic between Hunter and Drake is particularly satisfying—by the end of the book, we were rooting for them as much as rooting for all three of them together.
Drake and Hunter have earned their spots on the book boyfriend list. The way they love and care for Isabel and each other both in and out of the bedroom makes you want to be part of their world. They’ve got love, lust, and plenty of spice, and Isabel is one lucky girl to have these two men devoted to her.
Maybe you don’t need all the plot but want all the spice, we got you covered. Here are your spicy chapters: 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 16, 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 30, 31, 35, 38, 40, & 41.
